Jane Jin – Chairman / Co-president
Jane is the Founder of CUCS. She enjoys working with motivated people and is particular enthusiastic about innovative entrepreneurship and strategic planning. A MChem graduate with one year industrial experience at Pfizer UK, Jane is currently a Cambridge University PhD student within the Innovative Technology Centre in the Department of Chemistry. Her research is mainly focused on design and implementation of new technologies to solve key problems faced by global pharmaceutical companies. She is very passionate about her new society and looks forward to working together with her committee to bring new and exciting experiences to the campus this year.
Arif Damji – Co-president
Arif’s interest in consulting stemmed from his passion for business issues and belief that he really is a “budding entrepreneur”! During his past four years at Cambridge he has completed his Economics Tripos and now studies Management Studies. He has previously worked on the committees of CUE, Cambridge Futures and with his JCR on Welfare issues. His significant work experience consists of pivotal roles during his two internships at Barclays Capital, whilst being given direct control of a project interning at a UK Hedge Fund. He was able to further develop his business knowledge studying at the Institute of Business and Technology (Wharton Business School), by completing Certificate in Enterprise (Judge Business School) and participating on the 2009 Total Summer Conference.
Areef Jetha – Vice-President of Marketing
Born in the streets of London, Areef quickly became known for his exceptional skills both in the academia and in drama. At the age of 10 he received a scholarship to a prestigious school in which he founded various clubs, played a key role in Bank of England competitions and led an entrepreneurial company. Since moving to Cambridge to study Economics, Areef has thrived, captaining many college teams, playing a pivotal role in investment funds and travelling to Austria without spending any of his own money in the “Jailbreak” competition. When asked what drives him, Areef replies quizzically “Second star to the right… and straight on till morning.”
Myles Stacey – Vice-President of Sponsorship
Half English and Jamaican, from Cheshire (equidistant from Manchester and Liverpool) Myles is familar with many cultures. Our Vice-President of Sponsorship, Myles comes to us as a Historian from Homerton College. At
Cambridge he has been a college football captain for two years, rowed and played cricket. As a senior officer of the Cambridge Union Society, Myles built an aptitude for management orientated tasks such as that shown in his handling world press for the visit of His Excellenecy Jalal Talabani – The President of Iraq during the Iraq War in 2007. With CUCS Myles hopes to engage closely with management consulting in what he describes as an innovative and exciting Society.
Tristan Farrow – Vice-President of Operations
Tristan is the Vice-President of Operations of the Cambridge University Consulting Society. He is currently completing his PhD in quantum optics at the physics department in collaboration with Toshiba Research Europe in the Cambridge science park. When not in the lab, Tristan can been found at the Judge Business School pursuing his favourite courses in the Management of Technology and Innovation programme offered by the Cambridge-MIT Institute.
Matias Piipari – Chief Information Officer
Matias Piipari is a partner in an iPhone software development and consultancy shop Pear Computer LLP, a company he co-founded with a colleague during his ongoing computational biology PhD in Cambridge University at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute. Matias is a creative madman with a passion for technology and business. He enjoys ever-changing intellectual challenges and before starting his own business garnered several years of work experience in new media and web software development on the side of full time a biochemistry degree in Imperial College. You can find him tweeting about enterpreneurship, iPhone software development, music and much more.
Jayne Kenwright – Secretary
Jayne is currently a final year Chemistry PhD student here at Cambridge. Originally from Liverpool, Jayne obtained her first degree from the University of Liverpool, graduating top of her year before going on to travel extensively, including, living in Australia. Over the years Jayne has developed a keen interest in business from working across a wide range of industries including pharmaceuticals (in the UK and Germany), retail, hospitality and Merseyside Probation Service. In her spare time, Jayne enjoys competing in 10km races, improving foreign language skills and relaxing with friends. Jayne adds ‘I am so excited about this club, I hope that we will not only help people realise their career ambitions but also provide them with fun and challenging events’.
Katie Atkinson – Treasurer
Katie is the treasurer of the Cambridge University Consulting Society. She is currently pursuing a PhD in atmospheric physics with British Antarctic Survey. She completed her undergraduate studies in Cambridge during which she lucky enough to have the opportunity to participate in the Cambridge-MIT Exchange (2007-2008). She hopes to increase her knowledge of business and finance through her position on the committee of CUCS.
Nektarios Oraiopoulos – Senior Treasurer

Nektarios is a lecturer at the Judge Business School. He is particularly interested in the process of developing new product and on how those strategies evolve at the earlier stage of such ventures. A firm believer in putting academic ideas into practise, he was very excited to join CUCS!He holds a PhD in Opeartions Management from Georgia Institute of Technology, and a BSc in Electrical and computer Engineering from National Technical University of Athens.
